“I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness” (Psalm 84:10).
This is the scripture that often comes to mind when thinking of the Ushers Ministry, but God has made us much more than that. As ushers, we have the awesome privilege of meeting and greeting the body of Christ as they enter into worship.
We are blessed as we serve as doorkeepers. God uses us to minister to the hurting though prayer, a kind word or simply even just a warm smile. As we serve as doorkeepers, seat people, serve communion and collect the offering, we are privileged to see God work through our worship services.
